Does your home have a pool or spa?
You may or may not be aware that new laws have been introduced in Victoria to help regulate the safety of pool and spa areas in both commercial and residential properties across the state.
The new laws require property owners to have their pool registered with their local council or risk being issued with hefty fines.
Your pool needs to be inspected and issued with a certificate of compliance by a registered pool safety inspector. At Pool Safety Check, we have the experience and expertise to take the stress out of this process for you.
At Pool Safety Check, we take the stress out of ensuring that your pool and spa area is safe and compliant. Our friendly team is here to guide you through the full process and provide you with piece of mind.
The first step to receiving a compliance certificate for your pool and spa is to book in with a registered pool safety inspector from Pool Safety Check.
Once booked, our friendly inspector will attend your property at the specified time to conduct a thorough assessment of your pool safety fence. Upon completion, if compliant, Pool Safety Check will issue you with your compliance certificate along with instructions on how it can be registered with your local council.
If defects are identified in the pool compliance inspection, you will be sent a pool safety report outlining those defects and the actions required to make your pool or spa area compliant. We can also offer unbiased advice and cost-effective ways of reworking a barrier so that it meets the safety principals. If necessary, we’ll also provide you with guidance on who you can speak with to complete any works required on the area.
Once you have addressed and resolved any defects outlined in the pool safety report, you can book in for a follow up inspection with Pool Safety Check. Our friendly inspector will return to check that the pool is now compliant against the new regulations.
Once your pool and spa barrier has been inspected and deemed compliant, Pool Safety Check will issue you with a Form 23 Certificate of Compliance on the same day. If further defects haven’t been addressed, or additional defects are discovered, the process will return to step 3.
Upon receiving your compliance certificate, the property owner will need to submit the certificate to their local council. The process for this can differ depending on your council, however Pool Safety Check will provide you with the necessary information for your specific area along with your certificate.
